Nunnally Johnson

Nunnally Johnson was a multi-Academy Award-nominated American writer, producer, director, columnist, journalist with the Columbus Enquirer-Sun, Savannah Press, Brooklyn Daily Eagle (1919-25), New York Herald Tribune (1926), New York Evening Post (1927-30), and was a frequent contributor to the Saturday Evening Post.

Some of his credits as screenwriter include The Grapes of Wrath, The Dirty Dozen, Tobacco Road, Jesse James, The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit, The Desert Fox, How to Marry a Millionaire, and The Three Faces of Eve. Johnson also served as both director and producer of The Three Faces of Eve, The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit, Night People and Black Widow.

Error correction or clarification

* A couple of sources erroneously report Gene Fowler was one of Johnson's kids. This would have been an exceedingly difficult task since Gene was actually older than Johnson. Gene Fowler, Jr., on the other hand, was married to his daughter Marjorie, making Gene, Jr. his son-in-law.
