Gene Fowler

Gene Fowler was an American journalist at the Denver Post, Denver Republican, Rocky Mountain News, and later became sports editor of the New York Daily Mirror and the managing editor of William Randolph Hearst's American.

Gene was the author of many popular biographies including, Good Night, Sweet Prince: The Life and Times of John Barrymore, Father Goose: The Story of Mack Sennett, The Great Mouthpiece: a life story of William J. Fallon, Schnozzola: the story of Jimmy Durante, and Beau James (a biography of New York City mayor Jimmy Walker). Fowler's screenwriting credits include Union Depot, Call of the Wild, 1936's White Fang and Billy the Kid.
