Lady Jane Francesca Wilde

Lady Jane Francesca Wilde was an Irish poet of The Famine Year fame. Her poetry was published under the pseudonym Speranza. She wrote for The Nation newspaper, as well as serving as its editor beginning in 1848. Her early anti-British poetry espoused revolutionary action to gain independence for Ireland.
