Working to improve the accuracy of reference
sources, both online and off!
Correct biographical data about yourself, a relative, ancestor or client
If you're a public figure or prominent individual
who has discovered erroneous biographical information
about yourself in print or online, and would like
to see that data corrected, we can help. Likewise,
if you've found erroneous biographical information,
either in print or online, about a relative, ancestor
or client, we will work to see the flawed data
eradicated, and ensure the public is made aware
of the correct information. Our organization works
to bring accurate, clarified and corrected information
to the web. We also work offline to cease the flow
of errors in reference books.
Internet Accuracy Project does this at no cost, but
we do ask that you keep us in mind for a donation.
We must limit corrections to actors, actresses,
TV personalities, models, singers, songwriters,
composers, conductors, musicians, dancers, philosophers,
writers, journalists, motion picture/TV producers,
motion picture/TV directors, artists, professional
athletes and sports personalities, royalty, scientists,
law enforcement/outlaws, religious leaders, prominent
inventors, explorers, pioneers in science, aviation and
space, business leaders, politicians, and military leaders.
We prefer that you provide source documentation to
substantiate your assertion regarding the erroneous
data by following the submission guidelines below.
Please provide source information such as a copy of
the individual's birth certificate, death certificate,
marriage certificate, or other documentation to
authenticate your claim.
Plain text emails or photocopies sent via postal mail
of older (pre-1993) celebrity obituaries, and
biographical sketches are also welcome, but please
note the following submission guidelines.
We appreciate all submissions of biographical
information on celebrated individuals, but please
refrain from offering data that you "heard" or
that someone "remembers."
Remember, firsthand biographical information and
source data, such as information taken from birth
certificates, baptismal certificates, and death
certificates, is always preferred.
Please take a moment to carefully proofread what
you are submitting, particularly the exact spelling
of names (people and places) and dates. Errors in
these areas are a constant headache for everyone
who does historical research.
Biographical submissions should include
all of the following (if possible):
* NAME by which the subject is popularly
known.
* Individual's FULL NAME, maiden or original
name at birth.
* Individual's OCCUPATION along with major
awards won and two or three of their best-known
credits.
* Individual's DATE OF BIRTH and precise
TIME OF BIRTH (local time).
* CITY and STATE where the individual's
birth took place, and ADDRESS or NAME OF
HOSPITAL where the birth occurred.
(To ensure 100% accuracy, please be precise.
If the subject was born in a suburb, such
as Van Nuys or Glendora, please indicate
this. Do not generically list the birthplace
as Los Angeles, unless he/she was born
within L.A. city limits. Likewise, if the
subject was born in New York City, specify
the borough. Please, always try and
supply the address or name of hospital
where the birth occurred)
* Individual's DATE and precise TIME OF
DEATH (local time).
* CITY and STATE where the individual
died, along with the ADDRESS or NAME OF
HOSPITAL where the death occurred.
(Again, to ensure 100% accuracy, please
be precise. If the subject died in a
suburb, such as Alhambra, or Encino,
please indicate this. Do not generically
list the place of death as Los Angeles,
unless he/she died within L.A. city
limits. Likewise, if the subject died
in New York City, specify the borough.
Please, always try and supply
the address or name of hospital where
the death occurred)
* The individual's precise medical
CAUSE OF DEATH.
* NAMES of all SPOUSES, along with
precise dates for each marriage, and the
date each divorce was final. Also provide
the precise location where each marriage
took place.
* NAMES of all CHILDREN along with their
date and place of birth.
* Full NAMES of both parents along
with their date and place of birth and date
and place of death. If at all possible, please
provide the main occupation of each parent as well.
* Full NAMES of all siblings along
with their date and place of birth and date
and place of death.
Thank you for helping to correct information on this individual!
Again, please take a moment to carefully
proofread any and all submitted data
before you send it.
If citing a reference work or microfilmed
newspapers, please enclose a copy of the
cited work.
