Josh Saviano

Josh Saviano is a former award-winning American actor who portrayed Paul Pfeiffer on TV's The Wonder Years (1988-93).

In a relatively brief acting career, Josh managed to attain a measure of television immortality for his spot-on portrayal of nerdy Paul Pfeiffer on TV's critically-acclaimed The Wonder Years. Consistently ranked as one of the best shows of the late 1980s, the multi-award-winning series took a nostalgic, yet honest look at a boy coming of age in the 1960s. Paul Pfeiffer was the best friend of the show's main character, Kevin Arnold, played by actor Fred Savage. At first glance, Pfeiffer could be viewed as a stereotypical intelligent, bespectacled nerd, who's allergic to practically everything. But first-rate writing, directing and acting elevated the part, and indeed the entire series, to a level rarely seen on television. Ironically, in the poignant closing moments of the final episode, we discover that Paul Pfeiffer later becomes an attorney, just as Josh would.

Following his acting career, Josh attended Yale University and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He became an attorney and practiced Corporate Law in New York City with the Morrison Cohen law firm.

Error correction or clarification

Numerous erroneous stories insist that Josh is actually singer Marilyn Manson, or that he is a member of the rock band of the same name. This is most assuredly not true.
Josh himself addressed the issue, saying, "yes, I am very much aware of [the rumor]... I receive close to 20 emails a week asking me if this is true... obviously, it's not, but I enjoy the creativity of some people."

Fred Savage, who worked with Josh during the entire run of The Wonder Years, also addressed the issue, saying, "More people have come up and asked me if Paul is in Marilyn Manson lately than any other question. The answer is NO! NO! NO! NO! Okay, maybe I'm getting a little tired of that one."

For the record, after his acting days, Josh became a lawyer and practiced Corporate Law with the Morrison Cohen law firm in New York City.
