President Manuel Roxas

Manuel Roxas was the last president of the Philippine Commonwealth and first President of the newly independent Philippine republic (1946-48). He was also a Filipino Senator (1941), Secretary of Finance (1938-41), Congressman and Speaker of the House (1922-34), and Governor of Capiz (1919-21). As a member of the Constitutional Convention, President Roxas also played a leading role in drafting the Philippine constitution.
