Orville Redenbacher

Orville Redenbacher was an American businessman who produced Orville Redenbacher's Gourmet Popping Corn. He was a popcorn innovator who perfected a fluffier hybrid popcorn, and became a familiar television personality in the U.S. as the folksy TV spokesman for his Gourmet Popping Corn. He was also a writer who saw his Orville Redenbacher's Popcorn Book published in 1984. Orville Redenbacher's Gourmet Popping Corn remains one of the leading brands among microwave popcorns.

After selling his popcorn business to Hunt-Wesson Inc. in 1976, he and his wife, Nina, moved to California. Redenbacher's first wife Corinne died in 1971. He was survived by two daughters, Gail Tuminello, and Billie Ann Atwood.
