Harry Lane Englebright |

Harry Lane Englebright was an American politician for
whom Englebright Lake in California was named. He was a
10-term U.S. Congressman (1926-43) from California's
2nd District, and served as minority whip in the
Seventy-third through Seventy-eighth Congresses.
Harry's early years were spent as a mining engineer,
a mineral inspector for the General Land Office,
and engineer for the State Conservation Commission
of California (1911-14). His father, William F.
Englebright, had also been both a mining engineer
and U.S. Congressman.
