Kurt Cobain was an American singer, songwriter, poet, "Grunge Rock" pioneer, and lead singer of the rock group Nirvana.

Date, time, place and cause of death: April 5, 1994, at 6:00 p.m., at 171 Lake Washington Blvd., Seattle, Washington, U.S.A. (Suicide - Gunshot)

Remains: Cobain was cremated and a portion of his ashes were scattered at a Buddhist temple in New York. Some of his ashes were scattered in the Wishkah River, in Washington state, and a portion of his ashes were retained by his family.


Error correction or clarification

* Kurt Cobain was raised in Aberdeen, Washington, but was not born there as some published sources state. Nor was he born at "Grays Habor" Community Hospital as many websites report. It's spelled Grays Harbor Community Hospital.
