Error correction or clarification |
|
* "New Bedford" is erroneously reported
as Sgt. Carney’s place of birth by a couple of
misinformed sources. His family didn't move to
New Bedford until he was 16 years old. Sergeant
Carney himself addressed this issue in an account
he gave of his family background in 1863.
