Marvin Camras |

Marvin Camras was a multi-award winning American
physicist, and a computer, music and video pioneer.
He was the inventor of magnetic tape recording
and holder of over 500 patents that are the basis
of audio and video recording, and computer data
storage. He was also responsible for inventing
and developing many of the technologies utilized
in stereophonic sound reproduction, multi-track tape
recording, videotape recorders, magnetic sound
for motion pictures, as well as the technique of
high-frequency bias recording.
Dr. Marvin Camras was inducted into the Inventors
Hall of Fame in 1985, and awarded the National Medal
of Technology by President George Bush
in 1990.
