Tony Blair

Tony Blair was a British politician, Prime Minister (1997 - 2007), First Lord of the Treasury and Minister for the Civil Service, Labour Party Member of Parliament for Sedgefield, Leader of the Labour Party, Leader of the Opposition (1994-97), Shadow Home Secretary (1992-94), Shadow Employment spokesman (1989-92), Shadow Secretary of State for Energy (1988-89), Shadow Trade and Industry spokesman (1987-88), Shadow Treasury spokesman (1984-87), and barrister (1976-83).

He was the Labour Party's first Prime Minister to serve two successive terms, and the youngest person to become Prime Minister since 1812. His son Leo, born May 20th, 2000, was the first legitimate child to be born to a serving Prime Minister in over 150 years.

Tony Blair was the author of New Britain: My Vision of a Young Country (1996), and The Third Way (1998).
